The watch comes complete with its original box and guarantee, and is also sold with the medals and blue beret of the soldier who owned the watch, along with a handwritten letter in which he tells his story.
This Rolex Submariner has an extremely fascinating history. It was sold to us by the first owner, a military soldier serving in the United Nations Emergency Force. He was stationed in Gaza, and in 1966 he decided to apply to join the Cyprus Battalion at the camp outside Famagusta, also known as the “Renna Camp.”
Their task was to prevent conflicts between the Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot populations.
At the army store located within the base, the soldier was able to order this wonderful Rolex 5513, remembering a Rolex slogan that said: “Rolex – for men who dominate the world.”
